4 Stooges Sprint Car Series

 Magic at Lernerville

June 14, 2024

4 Stooges Racing Productions presented - Sprint Cars at Lernerville Speedway. About 32 miles North East of Pittsburgh in Sarver, Pennsylvania the most unlikely result in recent memory took place last night. Jerry “Dust Eater” Kerr, a name unfamiliar to most fans won his first race. After years of competing in Off Road Races in the South West and Mexico he is trying his hand at Sprint Car races. So far his Sprint Car record in feature races is dismal. On that rare occasion when he did make it into the features, he was usually racing for last place.

Tonight we saw a new and improved racer. Kerr led 33 of the 35 lap feature in a performance that reminded you of some of the old timers. When Kerr took the lead on the 3rd lap you could sense the excitement of the moment to the top of the grandstands. The fans were on their feet and never set down as Kerr pounded around the track. Keeping a steady hand he finished over 4 seconds ahead of Craig “bottom Feeder” Vaught with Wally “Wall Banger” Maulsby following up in third place in the Alykatz Motorsports car.

As Kerr took to the podium you could hear the chatter in the crowd, “who is this guy? And where did he come from?” But among those folks you could hear the cheers from his family and friends as they went crazy celebrating his win. You can see members of the Law firm Dewey, Cheatum and Howe rushing to the podium. They are Kerr’s main sponsor with associate sponsor Racing Seats by Mike Easter. Kerr’s crew accommodations are provided by the Horseshoe Rode Inn.

It will be a long time before we see another performance like this at Lernerville Speedway.

Stooges 2024 Season 1 plans

Hello and welcome to the Stooges Race Team Blog.  We have had a busy couple of months with Team Members getting new Sim equipment and some of our older equipment taking a dump.  All the while making plans for the coming 2024 season.

Our GT3 series has taken on like wild fire with the change to just the GT3 cars.  It is now the second most attended series in the 60+ Racing Adventures League.  No major changes are planned for the coming season.

The Late Model Fun Series is up for a major change.  Short Track oval racing for the entire season.  Wally has planned out a great schedule that will provide plenty of FUN racing.

Wally's Cup series is making a change back to the Next Gen Cup car.  It will continue to have a variety of tracks and controversey as the season unwinds.  The Next Gen car is a challenge - especially when using the iRacing setups.

New for 2024 is JC's "Are You the Best? Challenge".  Here we have a different track/car combo every week.  This will be a test of driver skill moving from car to car every week.  Looking forward to lots of participation in this one.

My name is Oscar Stooges and you can reach me via the teams email address: fsraceteam@gmail.com.

Just say "Hey Oscar".

Decent down Mount Washington

Wednesday's scheduled Mt Washington sessions had to be moved to Thursday.  It started out very dark but soon there was light and the race began.  Results:

Once again Wally Maulsby is the King of the Mountain.  Congratulations to Wally and to Peter and Eugene who also stood on the podium.  I have to say that a good time was had by all participants.

Unfortunately the person who was to take the photos for the race had car trouble and never made it to the mountain.  He has been reprimanded and told to get rid of the Pinto and get a real car.
