It was an exciting 24 hour day for the Four Stooges Race Team at the Daytona Road Course as the team conquered the track in their Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo. For this challenge it took superhero like efforts from each team member to get ready for the 24 hour endurance. Extra practice piled on top of our normal weekly races and practices. Doug making that extra effort to raise his iRacing road course license. Karl practicing for both teams with which he would race. Wally, JC, and Wendell working with Jerry to improve his road skills as we finalized the setup for the team.
This was a total team effort for over 3 weeks and finalized by our 16th place finish. For me it solidified the efforts we have made in the previous 3 hour endurance races.
I know that these numbers are posted below but some deserve to be highlighted - Wally drove a total of 172 laps. Doug drove 126 laps with ZERO Incidents. Karl and Wendell had only 1 incident each. These efforts combined to only 29 incidents for the team in our 749 completed laps. Wendell had fastest race lap at 1:45.668.
Everybody raised their Safety rating with Karl reaching that magical 499 number. I'm sure there were a couple if license promotions thrown into the mix with all of the 400 plus safety ratings.
Thanks to Wally and Wendell for the efforts to get the team back in the race when Jerry's internet failed during his second drive. The comradery displayed as each external force tried to derail our efforts demonstrated the true value of our friendships. Thank you to one and all and Congratulations!!!
