VRS GT3 Endurance Race at Autodromo Nazionale Monza - Grand Prix

Fans filled the stands at the famous Autodromo Nazionale Monza to watch 51 teams take the green flag for the VRS GT3 Endurance race today.  Starting from the back, the Four Stooges Race teams made steady progress toward the front.  Team Black with Wally and JC finished in 13th place in spite of suffering 19 incidents on track.  The Depends team of Bob and Jerry placed 14th with 12 on track incidents.  Bob lead the Depends team with only 4 incidents and Wally survived with a team leading single incident.  Jerry's fastest lap of 1:52:549 took team honors for this race. Other than the single team 11th place finish at Canadian Tire Park, this is the best combined team finish for the Four Stooges.

Next is the last race of the season at Imola.

VRS GT3 Endurance Race at Watkins Glen International - Boot

Todays race turned out to be an interesting event.  An entry list of 58 teams started our day off with a bang for Team Black as JC's internet gave him some problems right at the start.  Incidents followed and put Team Black in the pits a couple of times for repairs.  Meanwhile Team Depends motored on to a 23rd place finish when Robert Love took over driving from Jerry Kerr.  Robert worked his way up to 17th position and was then hit and spun resulting in extensive repair times that took them back to 37th position.

Team Black came back from their repairs and finished a respectful 27th.  Team Depends 3rd registered driver did not participate and this resulted in the team being disqualified.

All and all the driver performances exceeded some of our past races as Team Depends had 9 incidents and Team Black had 21.  On to the next race!!

Here we have the season rankings of the teams.

Mount Panorama Circuit - Bathurst 12 hour

Once again the 4 Stooges Team completed a GT3 endurance race.  This time it was the 12 hours of Bathurst at the Mount Panorama Circuit.  The team, anchored by Karl "Mr Bodoe" Bogle and Wally Maulsby included Doug "The Beas" Beasley, JC Hay, Wendell Lowe and Jerry Kerr.

After 12 hours, 241 laps the team finished in 17th place out of a starting grid of 48 teams in the Number 9 Split.  JC and Doug got the team started with the first four hours of racing.  On this tight and unforgiving circuit with a full field of cars these are the most treacherous laps of the race.  Dodging a spinning car is almost impossible and caught the team a couple of times causing severe damage to the car.

Following the repair time the team motored on with Karl completing 55 laps with ZERO incidents.  He was followed by Wally with 48 ZERO incident laps.  Congratulations to both of them for their stellar performances.

VRS GT3 Endurance Series - Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle

Well - what can you say about todays 3 hour endurance race at Detroit.  As expected the tight course gave us plenty of headaches as walls were to close and competitors seemed to come out of no where to push or shove you out of their way.  When I get to the video of the race you will see what I mean.  Team Black persevered to a 29th place finish and Team Depends came home 37th out of the original 57 entries.  On to the 12 hours of Bathurst at Mount Panorama.
