VRS GT3 Endurance race at Circuit Zolder

Todays VRS GT3 Endurance race was at Circuit Zolder in Belgium.  A little under 2 and a half miles long it was a challenge as traffic was horrible - imagine a California freeway with a bunch of bad drivers, you know like a normal freeway commute in LA or SF.  Anyway the teams did suffer many incident points effecting each drivers iRacing and safety ranking.  Team Black overcame some early incidents and finished 32 while Team Depends finished in 38th after being DQ'd due to exceeding the incident limits.

A total of 56 teams were entered in what ended up a single split.  The 12 hours of Sebring obviously had an impact on the total entries.  This had us in a race with a strength of field rating of 1725 vs most of our splits being around 1200.

Next week we travel to Daytona Beach Florida for the Daytona Road Course and it's high speeds and big banks.

VRS GT3 Endurance Race at Sebring - 3/13/2022

Todays 3 hour endurance race started off with a BANG! for both teams.  The accordion effect on the pace lap resulted in damage to both cars - Starting at the rear didn't minimize the opening lap damage.  Upon review it seems the front row cars were lagging far behind the pace car and then tried to catch the pace car just before it left the track.  They Slowed down and the cars behind began to hit their brakes and it just went back to the last row with numerous cars suffering front and rear body damage - including our two cars.

In spite of this start, Team Depends finished a highly fought for 18th place and Team Black with great tenacity finished in 26th.

Next we come back to Sebring for the 12 hour race on March 25th.  Then on Saturday another 3 hour endurance race at Zolder.  Season 2 is off and running.

60 plus Racing Adventures GT3 Endurance at Sonoma

An historic day at the Sonoma Race Track as the Four Stooges Race Team sponsored a 4 hour Endurance race for members of the 60 plus Racing Adventures League.  At this inaugural event we had a total entry of 7 teams.  New to team racing a couple of teams had difficulty in getting their drivers entered leaving the race to start with 5 complete two man teams.

Congratulations to R&R Racing with Russ Addie and Randy Shewmake for their win with an average lap time of 1:34.175 after 152 laps in 4 hours.  Second place was Allied Force Racing and third went to European Racing Motors.

Two teams were entered by the Four Stooges with Team Depends taking 4th place and Team Black in 5th.

We look forward to future events that may include different cars, tracks and race distance with the team racing format.

The last VRS GT3 Endurance race of the season found us at Imola with 54 teams in the 3rd of three splits.  Jerry started the race and soon found the wall resulting in over 9 minutes of repair time and putting the team in 45th place.  Steady laps and smooth driving from Wally soon found the team in 30th with over half the race remaining.  From there it was just staying focused and keeping the car on the blacktop.  This resulted in a final finish of 25th place.  Driver data below:

This was the final race of the season.  Overall there were 2714 teams that made starts throughout the 12 weeks.  The Depends team finished in 298th place and the Black team was close at hand in 303rd.  Overall a very good showing for our first full season of endurance racing.

A big THANK YOU to all that participated on the team this season.  I hope you all feel as pleased as I do for our performance's.

Here's looking for success in 2022 Season 2.
